The Model Environmental Summit
In a Nutshell

The Event
The Model Environmental Summit (M.E.S) was an entirely original inter-school event and the first of its kind held by the chlorophyll club, conceived entirely by the students of NPSI. The event took place on campus on the 12th and 13thof August, and was awarded the Young Change Makers grant, of up to 3000 SGD from the National Youth Council of Singapore. The summit worked on the same principle as several other events, in teaching students to face and solve real world problems. The summit was a great opportunity for students to improve their knowledge of the world environmental situation as well as their debating and public speaking skills. The event also had multiple other agendas such as making a donation of 500 dollars to ACRES wildlife rescue, who attended the event and gave a presentation to the delegates about their work. The charity funds were also used to purchase 15 saplings, of numerous species efficient at carbon trapping, to make the Chai Chee locality and the school eco-friendlier.
